Shingles

I am worried I may have shingles I have a very sore arm with little blisters on and they are driving me mad with itch and like a stabbing feeling like red hot poker I am not sleeping because of it :weep:I have had a bad cough and shivers too.

The thing is I have been in contact with my new born grandchild and I am worried about him hes only two weeks old !

Sounds like it could be, but as Annie says, they follow a nerve like train tracks, and there is real pain at the site of the shingles too.

The risk to others is not that you can pass Shingles on, they can get Chicken Pox from you.. but hopefully your grandchild will still have enough of his mum's immunity to protect him. My son caught Chicken Pox when a baby and he only had about 5 spots on his tummy, unlike me and his sister who were absolutely covered.

I'd see a doctor if I were you, if only to confirm or otherwise, and also they can give you something to ease the irritation.
