I have what the many GP's I have seen believe to be Tension Headache, Originally I started getting these headaches after progression of my eye disease Keratoconus some 17 months ago. I was not actually diagnosed with Keratoconus at that point and believed my crazy vision and the headaches were due to a brain tumor.

As far as the vision was concerned I was proved wrong after the many eye specialist visits finally got me a cornea scan that showed the problem.

Anyway my headaches have been coming and going since then, sometimes hanging around for days/weeks often in or around my eyes and forehead.

But this headache I have right now seems strange, its like on top of my head and around the sides of my head - symmetrical, feels like a constant pressure and with it I feel dizzy/lightheaded just completely strange and surreal. Dr put me back on Amitriptyline 20 mg for the past week but I have got no better at all, in fact I feel more dizzy and have also gained a constant flushed face and chest. (side effect?)

Saw Dr again today who gave me 5mg Diazepam up to 3 a day, hoping it will help me break this headache.

I'm still worried sick its a BT! Does this sound more like anxiety then anything sinister?

My blood pressure is also quite high at the moment, I have been asked to keep a check on this, home readings are 148/98 kind of readings.

I like how you noticed the symmetry regarding the headache. You have muscles in every place you mentioned. Sounds like a tension headache to me. Try having a nice warm bath :)

I hope you feel better soon.

I have had this for three days hun, it's horrid!! i have shooting pain in temples, temples r sore to touch, had pain on top of head, now more in back of head and neck, is your neck and shoulders sore when your press on the muscles? i'm sure our headaches are both tension, i don't think half the time we realise how much we are tensing when we are anxious.

Although i am not a dr i do not think your headache is anything to do with a Brain Tumour, there are so many more symptoms than a headache with a brain tumour, a headache is not a main symptom of a bt but you definately have more symptoms than a headache if you have one, have u ever looked into tmj? it causes dizziness with headaches, i no you will probably still be worried, but honestly hun, try and believe your drs, Brain tumours are actually quite rare x

Thanks for the replies, Yeah sorry I forgot to mention I also have a stiff sore neck, before the headache started a few weeks ago I had very sore shoulders/neck/trapezius muscle, could hardly move my arms it was that sore.

Has anyone spoken to you about migraine, chronic migraine or TMJ triggered by jaw clenching/teeth grinding?

What this guy said, plus try breathing exercises to minimize the symptoms :)

Thanks for replies, I know a better way of describing it now, the dizziness is like having rushes of blood to my head constantly if anyone knows what I mean lol
