Hi Everyone,
I've been lurking on the forms for a week or two but just decided to sign up today. A little back story about myself - I've been diagnosed with a general anxiety disorder as well as moderate/sever depression. I'm on an antidepressant and I take xanax to manage my panic attacks.
Now for the "real" (haha) problem.... For several years I've been having light headed spells, where I will suddenly feel very weak and like I'm about to pass out. For a long time I'd only have one or so a week (and this was pre-depression/anxiety) and I just kind of ignored it because I never actually passed out and they went away on their own.
Over the past couple of months, they've been getting progressively worse and accompanied by headaches. Within the last two weeks I've been having these lightheaded spells and headaches daily. Over the past couple of days I've had a headache every day and more than once lightheaded spell a day. It's extremely concerning to me and I'm not sure if it's anxiety related or not. I work a full time job as well as I'm a full time university student. My grandmother passed away in December and I'm still having a hard time dealing with it. I'm not sure if all of these factors play into it, but I have noticed that it's been worse since the new year.
I saw my doctor last week and she did a full blood work up on me but everything seemed fine. She's referred me to a neurologist and to have an MRI this Wednesday. I noticed a couple of other people on the forms that have had similar issues but wasn't able to see any resolution to anything.
I've never actually passed out, but the faint feeling happens at the most random and inopportune times. It's happened while I've been standing in line, driving my car, working out at the gym, riding an escalator and even just sitting at my desk at work. Sitting down doesn't help and sometimes if I lay down the room spins like I'm drunk.
I'm 26, a non-smoker, and in otherwise good health. Any ideas or advice?
Thanks in advance!
