Some of you may have seen about 4 weeks ago a post about a lump in the roof of my mouth.

It really freaked me out and I rushed down the docs, in the space of a few days I saw 3 docs and a dentist all who said it's nothing. The dentists said if I was still worried to go back after a couple of weeks.

It still hadn't gone so I booked another dentist appointment with a different dentist as I thought it would be good to get a second opinion. In this time I had already been back to the docs again!

Anyway the new dentist saw the notes from my other dentist and s one an examination, she said it's definitely not mouth cancer but is most likely a blocked small salivary gland and could have resulted from me eating something hard and it catching the roof of my mouth, she said it could take 6-8 weeks to sort it's self out. She was lovely and I came away feeling reassured. How could 3 docs and 2 dentists be wrong right?

A was good for 3 or 4 days, and was happy then the doubts started to creep in and because she had mentioned about salivary glands... Salivary gland cancer started entering my thoughts and becoming more prominent.

I am now on week 4 and it's still there in my mouth, it feels like it is never going to go and although after reading online stupidly ... Multiple sites saying salivary gland cancer is very rare and even more rare in the small salivary glands on the roof of your mouth (where my lump is).

I just can't shake this feeling of dread and the thoughts of it coming to the magical 8 week Mark and the lump is still there :( infact that thought scares the bee Jees out of me. No matter what forms of reassurance I get, it just doesn't sink in and feels like my mind just dismisses it straight away to concentrate on the worst possible scenario.

The last 4 weeks have felt like forever and I don't know how to prepare or endure the next 4 weeks.... Feels like I am on a countdown

It's driving me insane.......

Your dentist has looked and is not concerned, you would have been referred to a specialist asap if they had been worried. I know that reassurance is not going to help you but I get myself into states like this and it is a horrible feeling. Hope you are feeling better soon .

Three doctors and two dentists have given you the all clear. That's great news!
