Hi
Does anyone find they get more anxious when they tired, I only
managed to get a couple of hours sleep last night and fell asleep a hour ago
only to wake just now and really did not know where I was, and the usual
anxiety is here
I was always on here in the early hours asking for help to get me through the
panic/ anxiety, but have been doing really well and not really needed to be on
here asking for reassurance until tonight....so if there's anyone awake still
and wants to chat I would really appreciate the reassurance

Sorry you aren't snoozing away tonight!
Yes, lack of sleep can definitely make anxiety worse. When you are tired your nerves are also more tired and can cause you to be more sensitized to every, little thing- and therefore you feel more anxiety.
Also, if you find yourself worrying about the fact that you aren't sleeping when you should, and that you will be tired tomorrow, etc…..it actually is like telling your body something is "wrong" and your sympathetic nervous system hears "danger" and starts pumping out more adrenaline….and there goes any chance of sleep.

Are you familiar with progressive muscle relaxation?
