Hi Tasha, have you had therapy to help treat anxiety like CBT or are you taking medication to help control your anxiety ?
Im sure if you talked to your doctor about it they would refer you to someone to assess you. Then they might refer you to the appropriate therapist :D talk to your doctor about medication if haven't already. Ways you can feel less anxious are to try and think positive, maybe do some exercise and deep breathing. There are some links for sites below that will hopefully help you :D

Theres loads of websites that can help you :). I know how it feels to have uncontrollable anxiety, I have GAD and social anxiety problems. Hope you find this helpful :D

that's all real nice for someone that's had a rough time like losing a job, moving to a new location, or a relationship problem, but for people like me that have suffered from anxiety for their whole life (66years old) we have put our hearts into trying all these things and it doesn't help. ive seen all the different types of doctors and used more different meds than I can count, the only one that helps me are benzos and I have to be very careful about how often and how much I use, but when things get really bad its all I have. I wish to god there was something or someplace that could help but no luck in all these years, but ill keep looking. sorry about the long reply its the first time ive said anything on one of these fourms.

I really cant imagine how tough that must be to suffer for so long.I have done 15 yrs and I often feel defeated or too tired of fighting but like you I have no intention of giving up. If i ever find that magic wand to cure anxiety i would be the happiest person alive.

Tat, most people here have long standing anxiety issues. I know what it's like to feel at your wit's end, I also know the frustration when meds don't work. Getting control of anxiety has to come from within, and if you give things a chance you'd find there's a lot of supportive people on here. Making changes and taking control ultimately has to come from you, but you don't have to go through it alone.
