Well today has to be my worst day ever. Woke up with a really irregular feeling in my heart and straight on the phone to 999. Ambulance comes and ECG normal but they take me into hospital anyway. Spent 12 hours in there having every single blood test possible, X-rays of my chest and lower abdomen, and numerous ecgs. Managed to eat something at about 6 and spent the next two hours being sick, my palpitations then throwing up seem to coincide. Had another ecg done and again normal but I wasn't having the palps at the time. They have assured me that everything is fine with my heart and if anything was wrong, it defo would have shown up with all the tests and ecgs I have had. To be fair to them they were absolutely brilliant with me and spoke to me at great length about anxiety and the physical symptoms people get. Xray did show a huge build up of gas in stomach and they have referred me to a gastro specialist for a camera down the throat and one up the other end to see whats going on. If all these problems turn out just to be a gastro thing I will actually be a happy boy as long as my heart is ok. Still getting weirded out by these flutters and weird slowing down of the heartbeat and skipped beats, but here's hoping they settle down. Still struggling to keep food down after 5 weeks and have to do a stool sample tomorrow for them to check. Had diarrhea for a month but the one day I needed to go today I couldn't lol always the way. Docs still says there is no connection with the stomach and heart but I always get a flare up after I have eaten hmmmmmm it's a strange one. Anyone else who has had reflux and heart palp issues would love to hear from you. Hope everyone is ok. thanks

I really don't understand this doctor saying there is no connection between an irritated stomach and your heart. Maybe after all the years of experiencing this connection myself I can educate this doctor! There is a connection whether he wants to admit it or not, we have all the evidence on this forum :D

I know I keep getting told there is no connection by different doctors but the proof is there like you say because so many people experience it. May I ask what meds you take and how you cope with it?

Its the fancy name for reflux basically cut symptoms are regurgitation and chest pain to name two.

So is the reflux triggered by anxiety or the other way round?? x

Well I had anxiety first then got the esophageal spasms and acid etc. I don't have reflux (that I know of) but do have stomach/digestion problems come on in the last 6 months. I don't eat badly either. Now I'm not saying this as a fact, its my theory....but I know that when I'm anxious, I tense up. Constantly tensing my stomach can't be good for it.

Yeah I felt quite relaxed when I got home actually and didnt think about bringing up the drink after I drank it, it just happens. Just a bit worrying I'm struggling to even keep fluids down

Its really not a problem. I'm not even tired....got insomnia. Great fun!! But it could be good for you if you feel like a chat to take your mind off things?

Oh no well it seems I am struggling to get to sleep too :) Got this really weak heartbeat feeling again, feels like hundreds of palpitations in a row and cold water being poured into my veins. Very strange feeling
