Damaged throat

I've had a sore dry throat for about 3 weeks. Also feel like lump in throat. Been constantly straining to look at throat, now voice really croaky. Scared I've per entry damaged voice and throat. Throat really hurts.please reply can't take anymore.

A sore throat for three weeks should be checked by a doctor. It's unlikely that a sore throat would damage your voice or throat but certainly it's not fun to be suffering for that long.

Its worth your GP checking this out. My brother had the same problem and it turned out to be an inflammation because of strain of constant coughing due to problems with a broken nose from years ago. It was easy enough to treat though.

Can you think of anything that could have contributed to this?
