I'm booked to see an ACT therapist starting Friday for severe morning anxiety (early waking, agitation, restlessness, retching, uncontrollable crying). Does anyone have any positive experiences of ACT they can share? I'm in a very bad place at the moment and need some assistance to be able to cope with it.

What does it stand for Martyn?

It stands for Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. Apparently, it is similar to CBT but contains elements of Mindfulness.

I'm interested to see what it can offer, I'm prepared for a bit of homework!
