howdy,

Lucky enough to be on the spectrum and be ADD too.
Even more lucky to be reaping the joys of 600mg of the werewolf tablets.
I take 10mg of Temazepam to help with sleeping some nights.

However, I do seem to also get very bad panic attacks that almost seem to go into psychosis. They can run one into another, building up to a huge level, which causes my autism to spasm, sending a 40 year old into a 6 year old; still with grey and stubble :)

I was going to go and beg the giver of pills to try something like Valium for the attacks, but was wondering if I could just dump a Temazepam instead? I do know that when I took two of them instead of my back pain medicine it sent me to sleep within minutes!

Any other suggestions please? I ain't giving up the Pregabalin!

Hi Edgley,

Welcome to NMP. I hope you find friends and good advice here.

Valium and temazepam are both benzodiazepines, so their effect is similar. I think temazepam is prescribed for sleep as it is cleared from the body faster, while Valium is slower to eliminate. So, yes, temazepam may help with the panic attacks, but check the dose isn't so much as to send you to sleep. Best to discuss this with your doctor, however.

Pregabalin can be combined with other meds, so you don't have to give it up if you try something else. Good luck.
