Hi all, i am currently rather anxious about my tongue. I know that you have bumps at the back of it (tastebuds) they feel very firm. At the back where my tastebuds are there is 1 which is much bigger than the rest. it is rather noticeable and i can see it when i open my mouth and having HA i obviously think it's something terrible It doesn't hurt, but i don't know whether it that is good or bad. My question is, can you have different sized tastebuds and some that are much larger?

I have one that sticks up more than the rest as well.

it doesnt stick up more, its more flat and round, just generally bigger. this is why i'm worried as it seems to stand out as being different from the rest

I'm sure it's fine. Nothing is perfectly symmetrical on us

My daughter has a lump like that. Her doctor said it was just inflamed. It might go down on it's own, it might not. If it starts to hurt her I should take her to an ENT to get it removed, but it's nothing sinister.
