Hello

I have been quiet because I've been busy worrying about other things. It has dawned on me now that its 3 weeks before I go and see a consultant regarding stomach pains for 3 years.

I have not been worrying about this for a couple of weeks but today I thought to myself what if it really is cancer? I'm worried I'm delluding myself by not worrying?

I really want them to just tell me there is nothing wrong with my stomach and I am just over-indulging ? (thats what my partner says)

Does anyone know after seeing the consultant on the NHS how quickly an endoscopy will be arranged? I don't want to wait weeks for that after already waiting 6 weeks for this consultation.

There is no answer to that Darren.

Some will wait a few weeks and some longer, it depends on all sorts of things really

Hi Darren1

When I went for to see a colon specialist I had to go to another department to book the sigmoidoscopy scan, being referred by the specialist. I think it was a six week waiting list, even though this was to reassurance myself (even though I do have a condition which may have trigged my abdominal pain, nothing was found)

I think after 3 years of your stomach pains if I was cancer you would be very ill by now or even worst.

Good luck with seeing the consultant.

Hi Darren,

I may be getting my Darrens muddled, but are you the guy who had months and months of anguish with neck pain? If so, have you thought about getting help with your anxiety alongside any diagnostic tests that you need for stomach problems?

I certainly am not suggesting that you dont have physical concerns, as i have no idea, but why not tackle both things in parallel?

Yes that's me.... I still have the neck pain too!

I wish I had pushed this stomach issue sooner, I don't understand why I'd ignored it for so long :(

The reality is (and you only need to look at the evidence of posts on here) that it is probably nothing. That said, if the dr thinks it is worth investigating then it probably is.

However, why don't you tackle you anxiety simultaneously. I thought that was the promise you made yourself when you found out the your nexk issue was nothing serious?

If you are knowingly over indulging why not try and rectify this and see if there is any improvement in the meantime ? Unfortunately the NHS doesn't move as fast as we would like it to sometimes, I know the waiting around is frustrating at times.
