anxiety over burning plastic

Hi, I have got myself into a state today because I went into the kitchen to find that the plastic dog bowl had caught alite on the hub. There was no damage just a charred bowl.i opened all windows and felt no ill effects. But I cant get the thought out of my head that me and my dogs are going to develop something terrible like cancer from this. Can anyone help please?
