Hi my daughter who is 18 had baby 5 weeks ago and is on iron tablets if this information helps but last few times shes been for a poo she had bright red blood not actually in poo but down toilet and when she wipes is this serious do you think or could be piles even though I cant see any

I would think it is probably piles or a fissure after giving birth, presuming it wasn't a c section. Get her to mention it to the doctor or midwife. She'll be due for her postnatal soon anyway. Congratulations on your new grandchild! X

Thanks she did have a c section but did have 16 hour labour before so dont know if that counts

16 hours of labour would definitely count. All that pushing and then a c section, poor girl. Red blood is fresh so I expect it is piles or a fissure. My daughter suffers with this too, and even worse after childbirth. I'm sure the doc will put her mind at rest. X
