Anyone that's taken dihydrocodeine help please...

So i posted on here a few weeks ago about going to the dentist to have my teeth sorted under sedation... Since then I've developed a infection in my gums... The dentist has put me on 2 lots of antibiotics & dihydrocodeine since then I'm suffering from constipation.. Haven't been to the toilet for 5 days now, is this a normal side effect as I'm starting to get a little worried, thanks in advance xxx

Any codeine based medication causes constipation. Try taking a laxative to help you go :)

Annie's right, my hubby took this for a pulled muscle in his back last year and was constipated so doc told him to take a laxitive which helped.

Try Lactulose.Its a stool softener.
Morphine is notorious for constipating you.
