Love this Annie..thanks for posting :)
The sad thing it that it's true
I posted this over a year ago and had forgotten about it but yes it is very true :(
Ah, the great "Parity of Esteem" farce...
Excellent cartoon Annie but reading some of the comments underneath along the lines of 'pull yourself together', only reminds me why I/we try to keep it hidden...

Elaborating - I was sitting in the chemist this morning waiting for mine and Mrs Fish's prescriptions. A bloke sat next to me and we started talking about medication as it turned out he had arthritis and Mrs F does too. She has crohns disease, chronic fatigue syndrome and epilepsy as well and I was telling this chap that I have to get a wheelbarrow for her meds.
We laughed and he said he rattled too. Now I'm on five different drugs and only one of which is for a physical ailment, perennial rhinitis. But did I mention my psych drugs? Nope. I thought about it but was worried I'd get the blank look accompanied by that old favourite the uncomfortable silence.
A physical illness - tell the world but ssssshhhh if its in your mind. I think I need a NMP T-shirt?

I don't think we are the only ones though. Think about people with HIV/AIDS who must face stigma. Telling people about your piles is hardly going to be a good conversation, the same for STI's and things affecting personal areas of the body although I think women are generally more open in this area than us blokes.
