Hi everyone,

I am so scared. About 2 weeks ago i noticed a lump on the back of my neck. I went to 3 doctors who said it was fine and nothing to worry about. I had an ultrasound which confirmed this and the worry went away! A few days later I went to an ENT specialist for a consult about a nose job. I mentioned the lump I had felt and he had a look and suggested I get a CT scan which of course terrified me. I was back in his office yesterday for results. The scan showed that the lump I had felt was actually bone however there were two lymph nodes near by that were a bit swollen - one was 2.2 cm and the other was 2.1 cm. He said this is borderline normal but still a bit big. His suggestion was to get a blood test and in a month get an ultrasound to see if they have gone down. He said i might need a biopsy after this but he wants to wait in case I dont need it. He could see how scared I was and said I can get the biopsy done any time if I want.

This was yesterday and I have booked in the biopsy for tomorrow and I am absolutely terrified. In the mean time I am trying to figure out if I have lymphoma or not.

-I have had a cold for a few weeks so that could cause lymph node swelling
-the doctors and ENT all said the nodes were soft, not hard
-the size of the nodes is 'borderline normal'
-i have no symptoms of lymphoma at all

Is it possible to have lymphoma and have no symptoms? (night sweats, fatigues, itching, weight loss etc)

I am so so so scared waiting to have the biopsy and then get the results.
Has anyone had this biopsy before? Did it hurt? And could you see any wound or swelling after? (trying not to tell parents i don't want to worry them).

Has anyone else had nodes this big and it has been ok or any other relevant experiences?

Thankyou for your help

Your doctor is just being very cautious. It does not sound serious to me at all.
