Hi folks I sometimes struggle to keep an erection I have put it down to my anxiety, However I can shift this problem by using Viagra the only problem is I can not climax on the drug after a while having sex my wife gets board and I get frustrated and end up throwing in the towel thus leaving my wife thinking she can no longer please me. Anyone have any advice with this?

Sorry I meant advice on how to explain to my wife I am very much turned on during sex and that I am very much still attracted to her, I hate to see her upset.

A cuddle up on the sofa together in front of the tv can say volumes just making time for each other, walks, eating out, flowers can say so much more and best of all tell how much you love her. I presume your knows about your problems, so hopefully she will understand. There are other aids out there but that's a different post I think.

Thanks Ray, Yes she knows about my anxiety and depression and the medication I am on except the Viagra, I find it hard to tell her I need to take it to have sex as she might think she is not doing it for me anymore we had a good sex life before I started taking AD I just feel embarrassed as I have always associated Viagra with older men Am 34 and my wife is 30 so not exactly over the hill if you know what I mean.

I think the only way forward is to talk to her or it will only add to your anxieties, better that than having her think that you have gone off her. She might be relieved that you care so much to try things to help and haven't gone off her.

Age does play a role in being able to maintain an erection, however at 34, you should be Ok. However, if you're on medication, it can be a side effect. It's known that anti-depressants and blood pressure meds and many more can cause this.

Speaking openly with your wife is the way to go. She needs to know it's not her and she should be aware and understand these things can and do happen to men.

It's very important to speak with your doctor about this as, depending on current medications and health history, there could be other factors contributing to erectile dysfunction.

If your doctor feels you're suited for an erectile dysfunction drug, by all means give it a go. I can tell you fro experience, they're pretty awesome!

That being said, laughter is great medicine and I'm reminded of a routine by Robin Williams.... (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFM11SmoxfI) (Warning... Adult Content)
