Hi guys

I know I have been posting a lot lately but I am really scared and am having a bad time.

I have been to the doctors twice and dentist once today regarding a dental abscess.

I have a sore swollen throat (right side), same side as tooth infection although that is on a top front tooth.

When I touch my jaw bone on this side it hurts a lot also.

This has been going on for about 6 and is slowly getting worse.

Im scared that if I go to sleep, I'm going to die in my sleep withmy tthroat closing up.

Please can someone offer me reassurance? I just need a decent nights sleepb:(

Hi Ryan, what did the doctor and the dentist say about it? And because I refuse to Google medical conditions, what on earth is Ludwig Angina?

They first tried to say it was tonsillitis, then they said it wasn't. They didn't say anything after that.

The dentist said that I didn't have it, and wouldn't get it but I've been told so much false information motion lately that I'm scared of everything. The sore throat has only developed over the past 3 hours or so, was just feeling tight before

Sorry Ryan, I posted an add on later...is this what you think you suffer from?

Ludwig Angina is a life threatening condition where your neck, throat and bottom of mouth swells up

I just want to go to sleep, but I don't want to die :'(

Ok, just steeled myself and googled it. Why would 2 doctors and a dentist miss this? And why would you connect your symptoms to this if they didn't?

Ryan, this morning it was a brain abscess you were convinced you had, now it's this. Even Dr. Google says it's easy to spot and you've seen a specialist who has definitively said you don't have it.

You're a healthy twenty year old with your whole life ahead of you; the only thing wrong with you is a tooth abscess and a great big dollop of health anxiety. Please stop goggling, get on with your life and have a great holiday!

Amen Serenity! My first thought was Ludwig Angina was the love child of Ludwig von Beethoven and "Angina" Jolie! :D

To. Be honest I really don't know why my anxiety is so bad, it's getting me down so much. I can't even do normal things.
I had my first cbt session earlier, and the whole time I was concentrating on my throat and worrying

In other words you know it really is anxiety.

Now I'm no psychologist (by any stretch of the imagination) but that suggests to me that all this is a mask for something else. Perhaps in addition to CBT you could do counselling and try and get to the crux of that?
