So I have these hideous bumps on the back of my tongue. I'm terrified I caught hpv back in February from a closed mouth kiss. Since then I've felt like there's something on the back of my tongue I can't get rid of. My question is....does anyone out there's mouth look like this? Could it be caused by acid reflux or sinus drainage? I'm so sure I've caught a disease that I won't kiss my kids or share food or drinks with them anymore....also I'm referring to the lighter bumps along both sides, not the normal v shaped papillae

Are ur tonsils pink or light red. Any other symptom like sore throat or ear jaw pain. How many time u have this. How ur tounge look like pink or white?

My tonsils are pink, normal color. tongue is whitish. Some ear and jaw pain but I have allergies and strictly suspect I have tmj. I get occasional sore throats but always seem to be after years work and I have pollen allergies. Been having issues since February
Ok i am asking u bcz i have same from august last year. But after march this year i have pain in my one side lower jaw and and in ear but olso some in one side throat. Panic side tonsil is some bigger than other some bigger not more also have some black viens at both them. Lump at back wall of throat. feeling something as a hair like thing at that side of tounge when i swallow my selvie with toung. My tounge is looking white also after flossing. Vallele papellie atea is looking white hairy.
My pain is 24/7 only relief for some minutes or a hour .
How u feel the pain like? As me?
Tell me ur detail please for both our setispection.

Have you spoken to someone about your anxiety? I only say this because there's no way to have contracted HPV in the manner of which you speak and this has been a major fear and source of anxiety for some time now. To not show affection to your children or share a drink is irrational and sad :(

My oral cancer was HPV+. I got it from oral sex with a partner who obviously was infected at the time I was with her. You're saying you're worried about getting HPV from a closed mouth kiss (akin to a peck on the lips) is like saying you're worried about getting malaria and never haven gotten bitten buy an infected mosquito. You can get HPV by having oral, vaginal, or anal sex with someone who has the virus. It is most commonly spread during vaginal or anal sex. So, unless you've gotten down and dirty with your friend, there's no way you could have gotten it from her. That's how I'm so sure. Kudos on going to therapy! Have you discussed this fear with your therapist? There must be something, some tool or exercise that can help quell this fear.

She things my health anxiety is my body's way of creating something tangible to deal with because I feel like I can't control any of the problems in my life. Which is probably true but doesn't make it any easier...I've been a lot better since starting therapy. I haven't poked my neck inquite a while...lol
Ok dear friend i have previous nose deep injury with nroken nose with not more problem. But sinus ishue donot couse pain 24/7 or for months regularly. I chacked it by a ent he take sinus x ray and told its nothing. But any ent could not able to see base of tounge without that he did not done. He said it is just narve pain and will go away soon but its present.
Are u chacked by ay ent?

No, can't find one that'll take my insurance
I have no insurance so i scared that if it will cancer than how can i treat myself without money.
i dip my finger to my base of tounge and feel some bumps but not any more big bump. U did it also or not becauae scarted people will do everything.

Its not just a anixty but real problem i think. Tmj pain is not like this as we think it may be tmj.

I'm not relying because I've been busy. I have bumps back there too but I heard they're normal as you said your doctor said as well. And tmj can cause lots of pain andreferred pain, have you researched it?
My dentist said again tmj not couse sore throat that i chacked yesterday. Now i will soon oppintment with ent and u?

I forgot to tell that he did a opg x ray of my jaw and told ́e obout tmj displaced. But didnot told reason of it.

I don't think my sore throat has anything to do with tmj. I think it's from acid reflux or sinus drainage from allergies
But i have no reflux but sore throat one side and feeling something at back of my tounge that side

I don't know how to help you...I don't know what mine is and don't know if we are suffering from the same problem. Doctor yesterday told me those bumps are just large Papillary, but but I still don't know why they're enlarged
Today i read at internet hiv couse these bumps but one month later i tested hiv negetive and u.

I tested negative at three. But I only kissed someone and I think its next to impossible to catch it that way, though I still have my fears...

My tongue looks just like that. I first noticed it when I was 16 and was convinced I was dying. Thought it was cancer. I was too scared to go to doctor about it. Eventually I figured out it must be normal since I never died. I am 41 now. Married with 2 children and still have bumps on the back of m tongue.

Paul - your symptoms are EXACTLY like mine and I have TMJ and reflux. I don't even get heartburn all that often so was blown away by the reflux but, along with tmj, it completely explains a lot of issues I have.
aren't they just normal tastebuds that are swollen?
I have them, assumed they were normal.

Oral surgeon specialist said normal taste buds. But am getting a CT because my tonsil is hard. Doctor ordered it, I didn't ask for it..hopefully its nothing serious
