Alright guys. I have had anxiety as part of my life from a young age. I have never sought help outside of my own research. It's been a bumpy slow road but things are getting better everyday! There is no quick fix. I have come to a cross roads. I have a lot of advice for others as I have almost completey my symtoms that I was living with as well. However I am not "Cured".
For others I would like to offer my experiences to discuss how I have dealt with OCD (Family secret Shhhh) and depression by my own techniques and would like to know of the most appropriate forums for this. I would also like to know of any local support groups in mancheter area where I can be of help in person. For myself I would like to be pointed in the right direction as to what to do next. I have come so far and have reduced my various anxiety related symtoms by a huge amount. I feel with this in mind I feel that a doctor would think my symtoms not serious enough.
There must be a high number of people out there like myself that have also never looked for help, feel they have come a long way and have battled there way through things working out there own methods to manage/control and cure their problems. Im sure a lot of my methods have been a little unconventional if not amusing. We have a lot to share and also probably need to stand up and be counted. Hopefully speak to you guys soon. Take care. Don't think too much eh!

Hi and welcome.

Here are some links regarding self-help groups in the North West - many groups appear more than one site of course!

National Phobics Society
http://www.phobics-society.org.uk/selfhelpgroups.php?rid=4

OCD Action
http://www.ocdaction.org.uk/ocdaction/index.asp?id=467#northern_england

OCD-UK

Depression Alliance

Also you can ring No Panic on 01952 590 005 and ask for details from their directory.
