View Full Version : Pregabalin: value of increased dose?

hi guys,

Really appreciate some help here:

Suffering from nausea derived from anxiety

Started on Pregabalin 75mg x 2 per day in mid-May (was already on 30mg mirtazapine, which I'm still on)

The Preg made a big difference, quickly

Got my appetite back, stopped feeling sick

All OK until yesterday, when my anxiety and nausea came back (have had work stress recently which was probably trigger)

So what to do? Increase dose, and if so to what level? and do I just go there immediately, or taper up?

I'm thinking that's probably the best plan but would be very interested to hear views?

Also, will it just poop-out after a while at the higher level, or is it more complicated than that?

Really appreciate advice here.

cheers,

Albert

Up the dose... probably to 2x100mgs to start with.

And yes it is more complicated than it just "pooping out" on people. The combination of AD and pregabalin is very common.
The top dose is 600mgs a day but 400mgs is the optimum..as in there does not appear to be much difference between 400mgs and 600mgs. However everyone is different on pregabalin. 2x75mgs a day id a very low dose.

Thanks Sarah,

Good advice - I'm seeing my shrink next week and will discuss this

Best wishes,

Perfect answer from Sarah regarding dosage.

I certainly got more benefit from 450-600.

Didn't last for me unfortunately, stopped working. But on the plus side the side effects were much more bearable for me than on other drugs.

Hi Mark,

How are you doing on your new drug combination?:)
