Hey guys,
I had my sedation yesterday for my root canal.

Today I have developed a severe headache and a sore throat

Is this normal? I really don't feel right.

I don't have a fever at the moment, although my temperature is slightly increasing.

Just looking for some reassurance

Not at all surprising to have a bad headache after a root canal - now that the sedation is wearing off you may have some pain for a few days. Sedation can also cause bad headaches for a few days following. I have read that people can experience sore throats after sedation, and this is usually caused by the tools they use to keep your mouth open whilst you are sedated. It puts a bit of strain on the muscles in your throat which could be why your throat is sore. Should clear up within a few days, but if it doesn't just check in with your GP.

If you do get a fever just check in with your GP. It may just be that you have a slight infection that started prior to the root canal and need some antibiotics.
