Yes I have had it too and do you know what you are supposed to do when you get it? Exercise. Sounds mad but true.

Hi Leanne

I have had this too, I think you can't breath anymore in, its because your lungs are already full with air.( flight, fight response) We feel that we can't breath, then we worry and that makes it worse.

Try breathing out more then you breath in, breath out as mush as you can, slowly and you will automaticly breath back in. This was a quick fix for me and it did work.

Now I have done the exrcise as well, once when I had this, I know it sounds strange, but I ran up and down the stairs, ohhh boy I was puffed, not very fit, but it worked.

It IS an anxiety symptom. Try these links

When I get this I stop concerning myself over my chest area and concentrate lower down in swelling my abdomen. I see if I can puff my tum tums out a little and then I know I am breathing more from my diaphragm than my chest!

If that doesn't work I tell myself to stop thinking about my breathing all together and go and eat a pringle!!
