Swollen Node? Please help

I felt a swelling behind my ear a week ago. Not sure if it is a lymph node? It's about 1.5cm long and is painless. I am so worried about this. Can anyone reassure me? I feel that it is too soon to go to the doctors because they will probably tell me to wait and see if it goes down anyway. Thank you so much.

It's a lymph node. They're part of your body the same as a knee or a toe, they're meant to go up and down to keep you safe from nasty stuff. What is it you're worried about?

I am worried it's cancer as it doesn't hurt and I read it can be bad news if painless :(

Rubbish. Everyone will have several nodes come up and down every single year. I've never, ever, known one to hurt at all.
