Hello guys, my anxiety is at a very high level tonight.

I work in a school and went back today after the 6 weeks off. Which made me very anxious in itself. But on top of that, the head teacher informed me that she wants me to do more hours. Currently, I start at 8am and finish at 1:20. I usually start a little earlier than that though.
They now want me to start at the usual time but finish at 3:20 instead...a full school day. Which doesn't sound like a lot, but to me, being of an anxious and over catastrophising personality, it's making me panic.

I don't know what to do because I don't want to look bad by saying no.

Perhaps you could say that you need time to consider the proposed change to hours. It is a request - not an order. Give yourself time to calm down & then decide what you would like. Perhaps you could work until 3.20 on say just 2 days a week. Suggest a trial period & see how it goes.

It is only 2 hours extra each day and think of the extra money :)

Would the extra hours tire you out or make you more anxious?

Both probably. I'm back now and I feel exhausted.

Anxiety/stress/tiredness and a break in routine and pattern I'm used to.
