Have just been prescribed this by the GP after having a few traumatic years and my insomnia going wild - can go for days with no sleep. Have tried Mirtazapine but had no effect in putting me to sleep - hopefully this will am starting on 50mg nightly - I hate going to bed knowing I'm not going to sleep :weep: Have tried all the sleep hygiene etc but has no effect. Any positives about this medication please?

It helped me to get to sleep, definitely. :). Be sure to take it after food or a light snack for it to work, and it's quite slow so about an hour or two before bed.

This med is probably one of the most prescribed off label drugs in the UK for insomnia. And at 50mg the side effect profile is very small, you would be unlucky if you get any nasties.

Well took my first 50mg tablet last night - no sleep. Do they take time to get into your system?

Traz should make you feel tired quite quickly. Didn't you feel anything? Maybe you need higher dose then.

Definitley helped me sleep (not that i was struggling beforehand).

Unfortunately Ive gone up to 150mg and it hasnt helped the anxiety .
