wonder if anyone suffers from the same symptoms as me, might make me feel a little better! I used to suffer from panic just as I was falling asleep which would unsettle me and I would then stay awake and just fall asleep eventually, I darent go to sleep cos I thought I would die.

Now I go to sleep and wake up not long after feeling the urge to be sick and get quite panicky and agitated, this is more frightening than the panic before, but similar in that I dare not go to sleep for hours. I eventually fall asleep but feel really anxious the next day and worry about bedtime, I am starting to dread it. i have been on citalaprolam for about 9 months for panic and anxiety I have counselling every week, and had made improvement. My husband and I split 2 weeks ago, I sleep in room him in bedroom it is so stressful. I am frightened that I am going to be ill like in the past.

Any advice or any one feel the same?

Can relate to the scared to go to sleep one, used to be too scared to go upstairs to bed at all, really had to force myself with gritted teeth and digging my nails in my palms while i was going. Still have that feeling now from time to time but not when going upstairs now. I have to watch the tv until i fall asleep otherwise i can't sleep. Still have the fear of dying, not waking up at all, then when i do wake up i fear the day! Can't believe that i'm actually here a lot of the time, i get sicky feelings sometimes but do not actually vomit thank goodness. Sorry to hear about you and your husband, it must be very hard for you. You will get a lot of help from this site and everyone has great advice and they are really friendly. I wish you well. Angie.x

It takes a minute to get anxiety, but a lifetime to get rid of it!!!

I think panicky feelings when you are half asleep are particularly unpleasent aren't they - everything seems magnified in the night!

However like all anxiety symptoms they run their course and move on and so will this one :). Just make bedtime as relaxed as you can and try and do a muscle relaxation cd regularly too - even if you don't feel too bad.

Love Piglet :)

"Supposing a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?" said Piglet.
"Supposing it didn't," said Pooh after careful thought.
