I have got a hospital appointment to have one of my NF lumps possible removed. Even though the GP said it was fine (GP practice know what I am like worrying about various health things.)

I will listen to the specialist to see whether I need it removing/or can have it removed due to the location. I been lucky so far as not had to have any removed, even though most lumps are not serious. My mum had a few removed last year as these were catching on her clothes (and results were fine) she also says she would like a few more removing.

I will try and believe the specialist this time, not like my bowel cancer fear last year with all them scans, I know it was important to find out what was causing the abdominal pain.

This will be 1st time I had any of my NF lumps monitor for a long time by a specialist (I do monitor myself at home and go to the GP if I am worried.)

I went for my appointment today, no problem about having it removed. He asked a bit about my background (my Mum went with me) as she suffers from NF type 1 as well. He could tell by looking a few cafe au lait marks.

He also talked about if I find myself a partner and we want kids. Do I want to be a Dad .

He wants me to go for a spine scan as sometimes NF benign lumps can be there.

He also thinks having regular blood pressure checks are a good idea, he says that NF people can get high blood pressure (I also surprise that my blood pressure is okay, watching the football team I support.) (my mum said when I asked a GP for a blood pressure check I got laughed at)

He had a look at my brain scan whilst I was there, he did explain to me as me and my mum saw the photos that it was normal to have some of these white spots/bright spots for people who got NF1.
