Ringing in the ear

I've had this ringing in my right ear for about a month now. Anyone else have this? I have been to the ENT and he says tinnitus. It's so annoying!! I hear it mostly when I'm not actively doing something otherwise I don't notice it.

You'd be surprised how common tinnitus is. It is exactly what you describe, ringing in the ears, more prominent when quiet. I know several musicians who suffer terribly from tinnitus from all of the loud noise they've been exposed to over the years!

It will probably come and go. It is caused by many things. TMJ being one of the biggest culprits and also seasonal allergies ,and ear problems.I have had mine for almost 20 years. It comes and goes and sometimes it gets real bad but sometimes I don't even realize I have it and suddenly I realize its there.Your brain learns to ignore it.
