Hello all. My name is Victoria. I am a 20 year old female living in California. I have smoked since I was 16 (i smoke about ten cigarettes a day on my worst day). I'm working very hard and will have quit in a few months time completely.

I was recently in an accident. I was not injured, but I braked very hard going 35 miles an hour. This was a week ago. The reason I bring this up is because I have tight chest pain. It is dull, and I feel like when I breath I can't get enough air. I'm deeply fearful I have lung cancer and have read all about it.

All of my symptoms include dull chest pain (mostly in the center of my chest, a f a inches underneath my collar bones. Sometimes I'll feel like I can't get enough air. I am not feeling the need to eat. Sometimes I'll have an out of place bone pain, for example, my thumb throbbed today for a few minutes, as well as my pelvis. The bone pain is not constant. My asophagus (sorry about spelling) will feel dry sometimes, and dully ache from time to time as well.

I listed the accident because it was traumatic for me. I hit a drunk pedestrian and he almost died. I'm thinking mabye my mental state is just chaotic right now. I don't know, but I am absolutely terrified I have lung cancer.

Ten a day for four years is two pack-years. There is no statistically significant increase in probability of lung cancer for those who have smoked <5 pack years.

Don't get me wrong, they certainly won't have done you any good. However if you give up now I don't see that there's much cause for concern. :)
