Hello my darlings,

Hope your all well?

I have been waiting 4 weeks for my ENT appt. but due to me being so bad with the dizziness my DR called them and brought it forward to Monday (tomorrow).

On Friday I woke with a sore throat and since then bunged up nose and now the worst thing is very wheezy, when I cough it really hurts......

Will this effect my tests tomorrow?

Really don't know whAt to do

I'm sure if you explain that you also have a cold right now, the ENT will be able to decipher between the cold and your other symptoms.

When I went to the ENT he spent much more time asking questions about my symptoms, how long they had been going on, etc, and came up with a diagnosis before even looking at me. Then he did a brief exam and scheduled a CT scan which wasn't the same day. So if he does schedule some tests, I doubt it will be right that day. You should be fine.

Good luck!

Hello SW Girl,

Thank you for your reply.

I am hoping that is the case!

Just worried about the things like balance tests, ears, as surely they would resemble the way I'm feeling.

What was your diagnosis and did you get your CT Scan straight away?

Mine was allergic sinusitis ... symptoms were pain, pressure, congestion in forehead, eyes, cheeks, feeling off-balance, and getting sick more often. I am in the US so I don't know if the timing is different here, but I had my CT scan maybe 4 days later. It just confirmed what he thought - that allergies were making my sinuses swell. So now I am working with an allergist and getting allergy shots. I'm still not feeling great, but the weather changing has been helping a little bit.

Hope your appointment goes well and you get some answers :hugs:

Oh wow! How are you feeling now?

I've tried taking sinus pressure tablets but they didn't seem to help the feeling.

Yeah, sinus pressure meds didn't really help me either. I have tried a bunch of anti-histamines, but the one I was on for a few years stopped working. Now I am on a prescription anti-histamine, Xyzal, and Flonase, a nose spray. I use a neti-pot sometimes too. They are helping, but some days the allergies act up still. Not as bad as when it was hot all the time though. I'm allergic to dust mites, mold, ragweed, cats, and one other thing .. I forget, there's so many lol. I'm getting there. I'm just waiting for a frost to kill off the ragweed to help a little.

Hello all,

Went to the ENT, felt terrible as my chest was so wheezy, in the morning called my DR and he left me a precriprion for Amoxicillin, 3 times a day, which I have now taken 2.

Had the ear pressure, hearing test was fine.

The specialist asked me to stand up and close my eyes, and I had to hold out my hands and touch his, I was then asked to walk on the spot.

He said he could not see any dizziness but would however refer me to another hospital for balance tests. I thought they could have done it there so was a bit annoyed, as the department praises itself on dealing with dizziness.

I them asked him if he could check my sinus, (wanted to make sure everything was checked considering I feel drunk all the time and my eyes always feel heavy, dizziness). He turned on a small machine and put these straw shaped things up my nostril (which really hurt the higher he went) and then said your nostrils look rather unhealthy.

He asked if I smoked, I said yes, how many I said 20, he said I should try and cut down. He said I have something called rhinitis and that I need to take steroid sprays up my nose and anti histamines.

He said that after the sprays I will need to take them for a long time after.

I asked him if this could be why I was feeling like this, he said maybe but didn't look too confident.

As some of you may know have lost my job over this and am due to start a job tomorrow, bug now what with a chest infection, flu, feeling like I've been hit by a truck, not to mention the dizziness, I don't know what to do!!!

K xx
