Hiiya Dave
Holly gave birth to her baby Kai, weight 6lbs 8oz on 27 December. Her brother's birthday is 28 December. We had four 'trial' runs to maternity. She had a 24 hour labour but the baby is doing great. She is staying with us for probably a few more days before moving back to her flat.
I have been making bottles, bathing him, running around like a lunatic with washing etc. I am really tired and I start work (well, on call 1 January).
She is going back to hers to have some friends round for a drink and we have the baby for the night and day. Knackered isn't really the word I would choose but that is how I feel!
I feel I am doing well, 6 months I wouldn't have been able to cope with being a birthing partner (I got to cut the cord). He seems a quiet little fella (so far:D. I bathed him this morning but he is still sleepy!
I think she may find it hard as I have done most of the 'go getting', holding, feeding, changing etc but she will soon find out when she returns home how much it all entails.
I thought you would all like to hear the happy news!
Take care of ourselves and each other.
Love Fran XXXXX
