Shoulder pain

I have a pain in my shoulder which sometimes goes down my arm and round my back its a sort of shooting pain It happened about 8 months ago and now it's back , I'm scared its some sort of cancer :(

Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be ? :(

I don't think there is any kind of cancer with that as a symptom is there...? (not medically qualified, did not google and nor should you...) But you've probably either slept on it weird, or your muscles are so tense and wound up that there is a nerve trapped somewhere in your shoulder.

I get shoulder problems quite a bit because I sleep on my side, and hunch over my desk at work. The whole lot gets very clicky and ouchy when asked to be straight and normal.
