I've been feeling really nauseous on and off for 5 days and occasional stomach pain. It sometimes goes away if I'm chatting to someone or after I've had a panic attack about it. It usually takes for me to cry a lot for the sensation to disappear. I hate feeling like this as I am emetaphobic
I went through a stage like this in my last year of school and can't remember how I got myself out of the cycle. It just happened and now I think I'm going through it again.
Can it really be anxiety causing me to feel this way?
Blood tests came back fine and doctors don't take me seriously anymore as they put it all down to my anxiety.

Forgot to mention it usually happens after eating but not all the time. Sometimes it can come on out of the blue

I think it definitely sounds like when you're subconsciously anxious your body is responding in this way - mine does the same.when you're chatting or not thinking about it it doesn't seen to happen, but when your brain focuses on it the feelings come back.

See if distracting your mind with reason, listening to music, watching a favourite film, having a relaxing bath or answering forum questions on here helps.

I've found that distracting my brain stops it from making me think something is wrong.

Best of luck,
Joe

Have developed the same thing after anxiety went away for a while. Nausea is unbearable and i have to lie down multiple times throughout the day. Also got foggy brain and it feels like my head and neck are being squeezed.

Other symptoms include :

-Muscles and bones aching
-weak legs
-Vibrations throughout the body/trembling
-blurry vision
-ibs symptoms (cramps and sharp pains lower and upper abdomen - and chest area)
-constipation and diarreah
-pins and needles and a dead arm sensation in my wrists
-constant feeling of being sick
-burping all the time
-sensitivity to light
-shortness of breath
-ulcer like burning sensation when i drink alcohol. (i do have gerd though)

I saw my doc recently and he suspects potential ibs caused by anxiety/gerd but i cant help thinking its something serious in the abdomen like cancer.

I was given buscopan and motilium for muscle spasms and nausea.

My mum reassures me maybe its just a stomach bug doing the rounds and with our anxiety we think its the end of the world.

I have drunk beer almost everyday since my dad died a year and a half ago (not alot but still most days with the odd day off). Im wondering if it could be the cause or perhaps even this is all related to alcohol withdrawal.

My dad went through a spell where he'd get a lot of heartburn and he was ALWAYS burping. He did have an ulcer but it cleared up with some meds.

I find that I yawn and burp a lot when I'm anxious. For some reason I start letting up these little air bubbles and then i choke them back down and it just becomes this cycle of air coming up from my stomach. I also constantly feel sick (worry will do that). I feel tired all the time (probably from worrying...). Notice the trend. Here's the kicker for me. If I get a real honest to god illness like a cold or a stomach flu, as much as it sucks, I don't feel anxious. My brain automatically reverts to "survival mode" and I just rest and do what I need to do to take care of myself. Plus I have the comfort of knowing its an illness and likely will have a short duration.

However, the generalized anxiety is what really does me in. I get nervous so that I'm sick off and on. I'll have an upbeat time and then a bad time the next day and it just gets discouraging.

Now... here's my thoughts... and I'm not a doctor... on what you might want to do about the stomach pains. Ask the doctor to do an upper GI. Drinking alcohol every day is not good for your liver or pancreas so its not a bad idea to just check how those are functioning. If you get the all clear on that, then get some counseling to deal with the death of your dad and the alcohol. Do you have Al-anon where you live?

Thanks Blondielady. That cycle you have sounds familiar. If i feel fine one day anxiety makes sure i suffer for it in the next few days. Really is a viscious circle.

Im in uk, i have asked about an endoscopy/colonoscopy several times but both my docs seem reluctant to refer me to a specialist who would do all those sorts of tests. They said that they usually only do that when someone is either vomiting blood or passing it in their stools, which im not.

I wont be going to any Alc anon, i realise i drink too much but so does everyone else in this country lol. I've told docs about my drinking and they dont think the issues are connected. I did actually go to docs couple days ago and he is going to check liver function, which i have had tested loads and its always passed with flying colours :)
