Pain in head when coughing !!

Ok I'm sat in work getting myself into abit of a tizzy basically the past week Iv had a cold I now have a cough from that this morning I have woke up with a slight headache behind my eye and what is making me panic is when I cough (which is quite frequently) I get this horrible sharp pain like behind my eye and the front corner of my head like a really sharp horrible pain... Of course I have googled and it's a life threatening head ache caused by an Aneurysm or failing that a brain bleed or tumour !!! Has anyone else ever had this pain ?

Had lots of horrible pains from head colds, flu etc - never life threatening (so far).

Hows it going?


This is due to tension in scalp muscles and adrenaline being released into muscles in the area. You may even get a darting pain, this is due to constant tension making the muscles fatigued.



Try to not worry about it, and stop fighting against it. It will pass!

Hi thanks for replies just in work whatever it is it's bloody painful really sharp shooting pain trying to suppress the cough so which is not working out to well :-/ xx
