Hi folks - glad I found this forum as the last few weeks have been a nightmare- hardly slept.

I have had no major health anxiety for 10 years but when it happens, it happens bad.

I recently became aware of pins needles, tingling and pain in left leg and arm. I began to fixate and started to google which threw up MS as the days went on and as the symptoms became more sporadic I arrived at brain tumour with symptoms as simple partial seizures:

Sudden nausea then pins & needles in left arm and leg then tingling in face and left side of head.

Add to the mix - my arm leg become red hot.

I went to GP (1st visit 4 years) and he says stress anxiety and I'm now on Citalopram for one week and feel worse. Now getting hot flushes

Any advice for me? Should I trust Gp? Theses symptoms feel very very real!

Hi citalopram will make you feel worse I'm very surprised your only on it for a week as it takes 2 weeks to start to get used to it, you could always speak to a different doctor for a second opinion mainly to put your mind at rest it's a vicious circle as if your panicking about feeling ill then you feel worse so then you panic more lol do you do anything to help you to relax, apparently the more relaxed you are the better you think and then you can put your fears into perspective

Thanks for your reply - you're right it is a vicious circle! I've been here 13 years ago and Citalopram worked that time but can't recall it making me feel this bad.

Incidentally, I also spoke to my Occ Health doc (who may not be frontline for several years) and he ran a series of bloods - all normal.

Citalopram is not something you take very short term, certainly not for just a week or 2!
I had it 5 years ago and I felt much, much worse for about a month before I started to get the benefits.
If it was me, I'd see another doctor and get a proper check up and proper plan of treatment - it doesn't sound like the one you've seen has done much to make you feel confident in them.

Oops sorry for misunderstanding- I mean I've only taking it for a week. Will be on it for min 6 months

Ah, I understand - in that case, ignore my advice. If your GP had any suspicion you had MS, they would be doing tests or referring you to a specialist.
If it comforts you, I started getting tingling in my right arm a couple of weeks ago. At times, my arm feels heavy and like it's heating up. I've also been getting pins and needles at night, and now I have a problem with my shoulder that side - it aches and the muscle at the top is hard and tight. From talking a friend who has the same problems yesterday, I'm sure it's as simple as a muscular-skeletal problem, maybe a trapped nerve or similar.
