Hi Phill,Terry what a beautiful day, even it is bloody hot.:D
Stately :shades:
Only 30 here so far but after 2 storms in 2 nights humidity is about 147%
Dig you buy a ball for Sarge?
Turtle is ball mad and knows 4pm is play time.
I swear she's got a watch but I can't find it.
If you have a Big W nearby they have great bouncy balls for $2
Yelp.
Got him a ball at K mart and an extra large water bowl, one for outside as well.
It has been dreadful in Proserpine, the locals tell me they have never felt the heat like this, one old bloke has lived here all his life he reckons we are gunna get a cyclone, great that's all we need.
Stay cool Phill.:D
Plea :shades:
We've been here 4 yrs in Yeppoon and this is the hottest and driest summer we've had.
The storms the last 2 nights have at least helped the lawn.
We went through cyclone Marcia about 3 yrs ago.
It was Cat 5 - scary but no damage luckily.
They don't let pets into the shelter so we stayed home with the girls.

Answer
We're having storms here too. Just got rid of one and now storm Etna started last night...luckily she isn't living up to her name in a volcanic way! One dead tourist sucked into the sea, it sadly happens every year as people don't realise how dangerous it is on our coastal walls when the waves crash over as they can pull you in and no one can help then in our seas unless the lifeguard service see it happen.
Reply :shades:
People don't realise how strong the sea is.
MyNameIsTerry
04-01-18, 00:35
Yacking
Very true, Phill. We still see images of people standing by the sea front walls to take pics or vids of the 20ft waves soaking them. So many people have been dragged into the sea like that over here.
I was once at Blackpool in a big dept store when a storm hit and we couldn't open the front doors due to the wind yet some plonker will prat around for a video, especially these days with everyone posting their lunch hoping it goes viral so they get their 15 minutes of fame.
Got the name wrong, it was storm Eleanor. Nothing compared to your storms, we are lucky we don't get many hurricanes. We tend to get the tale end of anything heading for the US.
Gabbing :shades:
I saw Pomgolia on TV this morning - doesn't look good.
A woman got swept off the rocks here yesterday.
I've fished the same place and to get washed off she must have been standing at the edge looking in the water.
Some just have no idea.

Grannies
It's calmed down now so it's probably left. It's Winter though and Feb is always bad but it's been so mild this is probably the result.
That happens over here too. Often it's a broken leg. People don't realise hitting rocks with force can easily break your back, legs or a fractured skull. It can get slippery too with the erosion and moss.
Luckily over here we don't have to worry about suspicious wooden logs that decide to eat you
Senior :shades:
This one drowned unfortunately.
February is always our hottest month.

Retirement
Sorry to hear that. Bad things always seem magnified at this time of year, like many more of them happen.
Transition :shades:
More people with time on their hands to do stupid stuff.
There's a mountain down in Bris (Mt Beerwah) where people get rescued almost weekly.
They gotta be mad to be climbing in the heat anyway.
MyNameIsTerry
04-01-18, 05:54
I bet that impresses the rescue teams. People don't think of them, they can't get into trouble they've got to get the job done. Same with lifeboat crews, it's all voluntary over here but we couldn't cope without them. Stupid governments cutting funds.
It's more the sudden weather changes and zero visibility over here at certain places. A bloke I worked with years ago got stuck on a ledge when fog closed in and he had to sit there for hours until it cleared.
They should make em pay for the rescue
Next.
I know a bloke that was lost in The Blue Mountains and he had too pay the Westpac Chopper,he had no food only a bottle of water and a banana, what a d*ckhead.
Time :shades:

Oops, didn't post a word above :doh::roflmao:
Glad they make them pay over there. It always annoys me when drunks are getting ambulances to A&E. I don't mean those with substance misuse addictions, the ones that annoy me are those on a night out who work and could pay a charge. At the risk of sounding old, back in my young days a copper finding you passed out on the street drunk would give you a nudge and tell you to bugger off home to sleep it off or bung you in the drunk tank.
Exact :shades:
Cops were decent blokes here once too
Tight.
Yep,they are not the same.
Taut :shades:
I remember when the old Sargent would give you a kick up the ar se and tell you to wake up to yourself.
Doesn't happen these days.

Nervous
Still got decent coppers here but society has turned them into part social worker and part mum or dad. I cringe every time I see a TV documentary where they ask them if they want a cup of tea as soon as they put them in a cell or start asking which of a list if meals they want. It's too far, they say it's best to try to get on but I'm from a generation where you didn't need to wipe their noses to be respected. It's all PC nanny state nonsense over here now.
Shaky :shades:

Howdy Phill,Terry.
Finally moved the last of all my shit.
Haven't had much time too spend with Sarge, between the move and work the poor hound hasn't spent much time with me, I am off too the beach with a frisbee,Esky and sunscreen.
I want to train him to be able to ride on the bike with me.:yesyes:
Grown :shades:
He'll love the beach :yesyes:
You do realise that when he's 50kg he'll have to be on the back cause you won't be able to sit him on the tank ??
No.
Yep, I know, will have to tie him on my back,or get a side car.:D
Opulent :shades:
I think it's gonna be the side car
Turtle is 18 months old today.
Gotta weigh her at the vets - I can't pick her up.
She was 32.5 at 12 months.

I reckon a trike! One of those massive Harley Davidson ones :yesyes: Don't forget he needs goggles & necktie bandana thing and we want a pic of that too  He will be a cool dude.
He'll go mad for the beach.
Happy birthday Turtle! :birthday::birthday1: Doggy treats, toys and no blaming for human farts today
Fake
A trike would be good but if you have a Harley you gotta buy a ute so you can get it home when it breaks down.
Better to get a VW one.
Google Bon Trike

Are you more of a sport bike guy, Phill? That's more our thing over here. Dirt bikes too. Or the older Triumph style bikes but there are less & less these days. I'm on the route to one of the big biker meets so occasionally the roads are taken over.
Dumb.
:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:
Geez Terry, everyone here is cracking up laughing, they have seen pics of my hearse and reckon I should cancel my trip and pay for the one you posted.
That pic made my day.:roflmao: Thanks.

Yep sold my ZX11 not lng ago.
If I get another it will be a tourer like a BM or similar (too old for bending over the bars all the time)

I think they are right, Lola! Sarge would enjoy a lie down in it too :yesyes: get a surf board in it.
Tourers are cool, Phill. The BMW ones are popular over here. Don't see many Goldwings. Plenty of Honda, Kawasaki on the roads and the occasional Ducati.
Ready :shades:
Julie likes Goldwings but I'm not keen on em.
Always been Kawasaki.
Yes.:D
Bloody nuther hot one Phill.

35 here in the rock over the weekend.
Hopefully cooler at home with the sea breezes.:yesyes:

The other day in Penrith it reached 47.3c,it was the hottest day on earth that day, today it is HOt.

2 drops of rain at home but really windy.

Now I know why you've got a drone, you stand under it and use it as a fan on the beach :yesyes:
Entry.
May I borrow your drone Phill, I spotted a hunk that lives down the road, I want to spy on him.:D
Drone :shades:
Now now Lola.Keep it in your pants :winks:
Earth.
Forget the drone,Phill got a look at him this morning, not that much of a hunk, plus he is on the role, I was doing interviews this morning when he came in.:busted:

At least you found out before you wasted your time :yesyes:
