Energize
(Total hip replacement here too, hoping to get back to relieving work mid-Oct, I second Ms L's question) :D
Energy :shades:
Evening ladies.
It's pretty good.
Ive had it 6 or 7 years nòw.
Only 4 days hospital and 2 weeks off work.
I'll warn you though it isn't pleasant the morning after when they come in and turn you over.
WiseMonkey
16-07-20, 12:48
Yawn
(Wow! only 2 weeks off work, I might get back earlier :)
Thanks for the heads up on the morning after :scared15:
Doubt I'll get much sleep in the hospital)
Notion :shades:
My bed was so uncomfortable that I told them if they didn't send me home I'd walk.
You have to be able to get up and down 4 stairs before they'll let you out over here.
I work in real estate so not much walking hence 2 weeks.
You'll have a crutch and physio for a while.
Best to book physio ASAP as it can take a while to get in even with private health insurance.

Normal
(I have 13 steps to my deck, so lots of practice in hospital plus David is taking a week off work :)
I'll have plenty of time to recover before returning to the coalface and some time to spend with the new grandie (when it arrives) :yesyes:
Logical :shades:
I'm just glad we were living in a single storey house when I got mine done.
I've got 16 stairs to the bedroom at home and would have been sleeping on the lounge if we'd lived there.
I tested myself daily by seeing if I could get my foot up to the peg on my motor bike.
WiseMonkey
17-07-20, 07:54
Lucid
(Once I'm in the house, I'll only need to go downstairs to use the recumbent bike, but that's not likely to be until week 3ish) Did you have physio?
Dream :shades:
Had physio for quite a while.
Can't remember exactly how long.

How did you do that Lola ?
We've got 16 polished timber stairs at home.
When we moved in I told Julie no thongs on the stairs but she didn't listen.
Luckily when she slipped she fell on her bum and bounced all the way down.
I couldn't help but laugh at the sight.
She ended up with a bruise the size of a dinner plate on her bum.
She goes up barefoot now.

That made me laugh Phill, I wish I had landed On my ass lol.
I went down on the 3rd last step and hit the slate tiles in the garage my left knee took the brunt.grrr

Woke up and couldn't go back to sleep
Had a nap after breakfast and now I feel like a zombie.
