(It was a complete hip replacement, I had a ceramic implant, op took nearly 2 hrs)

I had the same and they cut through the muscle to do it.
Recently someone came up with a way to do it without the cutting.
Is your scar on the side or the back?
How's it feeling today?
WiseMonkey
07-08-20, 07:33
Mitre
Even'n Phill :)
(My scar is on the side and it's feeling easier today, did some extra walking up and down the corridors and the steps again. The hardest thing is learning to sleep on my back for 6 weeks as I'm a side sleeper. I've got a good lot of drugs to take home, including Gabapentin which is for nerve pain and is also good for sleep. Did you have this drug and any other suggestions re sleep? I'm sleeping in the other room too.)
Trim :shades:
I found sleeping on my back hard too as i'm also a side sleeper.
I also had to have a pillow under my feet to elevate my legs.
It made my heels feel like they were on fire.
No pain meds to take home just some blood thinners I had to self inject for about 6 weeks.
I didn't do stairs until day 4 when I had to go up and down 4 to be allowed to go home.
WiseMonkey

Timer :D
(Specialist didn't say about elevating my feet at night, but I have to have 2 siesta's during the day, morn and arvo, where I have to elevate them.
I have a blood thinner, anti-inflammatories=(celecoxib), gabapentin for nerve pain and paracetamol.
Did steps on day 2 and 3 (think I've got the hang of it)

We have 17 case so far, all related to one cluster, likely to have come from a border breach (officials are still looking for the source) so there will be more to come hopefully only related to that cluster. Two of their family members who are CV positive, went on holiday down the line and another CV positive family member visited a relative in an aged care facility!! All aged care facilities throughout NZ are in lockdown. Auckland is still in lockdown and likely to remain that way for some time. Govt. has gone early and early, heaps of contact tracing and testing, we've been here before so should be able to get through this the same way.
Sleight :shades:
Hope they get it before it goes any further

I'm ever the optometrist but there could actually be about 100 cases linked to this South Auckland cluster, that's according to the Director General of Health!! This evening a case has popped up at a school on the North Shore, I'm picking there is a connection with one of the parents work places and the South Auckland one. It seems that airport staff haven't been tested regularly, that's a no brainer!
