I bet you can't wait for Sarge? I know you missed having a dog with the restrictions at your current place. Dogs are great helpers with all this stuff we go through. A daily walkies and seeing Sarge happy running about will help. And the cuddles :yesyes:
We don't see shepherds as much here now. I think they are another breed that got a bad name because they were so often guard dogs but they are beautiful. The fact they are so popular with our police shows how intelligent they are too.

Yeah Phill, the same with any breed isn't it. Staffies have a bad rep due to idiot owners using them for fighting or as bragging dogs yet they can be soft as a brush with a normal upbringing. Mastiffs are another.
Happy New Year everyone!!! :yahoo:
Latter :shades:
Sure is Terry.
I had an English Bull Terrier that people used to back away from but was really gentle.
My neighbour at the time (a bikie) had one you couldn't go near.
I think most dog attacks are the owners fault but it's the poor dog that gets put down.

Yeah, I would much rather put the owner down :winks: sometimes dogs go for other dogs and that's just natural as they are being protective but otherwise attacks on people are always about bad owners. The cases of children attacked by family dogs have a habit of revealing bad owners.
Aw, you've got us, Lola :hugs: NYE used to often make me feel like that at the end of the night where everyone had paired up and I wasn't, back in my pubbing days. Get your feet up and have a relax, pamper yourself and it will pass. :flowers:

Ours loves having a towelling. It's a big fuss to him and a play where he also feels warmer afterwards. He stood looking at me by the back door after he'd been out the other night until I got the hint, I didn't think it was raining enough for him to be wet but his fur was wet enough as he is regrowing since his last cut (he seems to grow so fast).
Dazzle :shades:
I'd like to think it's both.:winks:
Turtle thinks it's a great game too and doesn't want you to stop.

Do you guys have those ball launcher things over there? We have one you can shoot or lob.
My brother has a collie and he always wants to chase after something. Anything like a ball and he's well happy. That and being able to dive into water. My brother has just moved up north near the coast so they take him on the beach most days and he loves it. Diving in the sea is a fave of his when they would take him on their weekend hikes.

Go into Advanced post.
Click Manage Attachments. Click the search button. Search for your file and click on it. It should appear as the file name in the upload name bit.
It may take some time to upload. But now you go into Attachments which is at the bottom left of your User CP page.
Click on the attachment address. This opens it in a new tab or window. Copy the address in your address bar.
Now go to make a post in a thread. Click Insert Image.
Blank out anything that shows in the box that opens up. Paste in the link you copied and click OK.
The image will appear in the post. Sometimes it doesn't work and you have to go into Attachments to open it again to get it to work and post again.

That's why I prefer old fashioned desktop/laptop set ups. All this "we make your life easier" stuff on mobile devices just seems to make it weirder and file managers like Explorer were dead easy to use.
Yeah, always seen Apple as overpriced, Phill. The latest one is pretty much an older Android Samsung anyway. It's just the fan boys and label chasers as usual that love them.
You've probably got some sort of "upload to Dropbox" type of option in their too I bet.

I started off with one desktop computer years ago.
Now we have 1 desktop , 4 laptops , 5 tablets and 2 phones between us.
I tablet is exclusively for the drone and one laptop for business but don't ask why we got all the other stuff.

I would have been the bloke driving past laughing & pointing. :yesyes: The "ha ha" kid of the Simpsons (Nelson?) would have been an idea sound effect
I've only got a tablet. 4 laptops but 2 are broken, one working one is the oldest and used for when newer ones break, just had a new one to get back up to date. The oldest is on XP and hardly any Internet browsers still work on that. got a desktop cube frame one I built myself years ago but ended up switching to laptops and not had a use for it. I could always use it as a server or backup or update it now. Got the build right but had to get some help (luckily was very cheap) and it turned out the RAM seller told me it was a matched pair when it wasn't.

Would have loved to see that.
The glass in em break so easily.
My grandson dropped one from about 3 feet onto carpet - new screen needed.
My old desktop still runs XP and I use Firefox and Opera on it.
It's soooooooo slow compared to the newer stuff though.
I turn it on ocaisionally to update the anti virus.
I prefer laptops but use tablets when watching TV etc.
I have one Windows tablet but it's not as good as Android.

https://youtu.be/hYu-GysmD9c
Thank god I go Samsung then. I've dropped mine a few times and it's been fine. It used to the mark of a cheap product if you dropped it and it broke like that :whistles:
Yeah my XP laptop is slow. IE is terrible so switched it to Firefox as no Chrome available now. Tried downloading about 7 others browsers and only Avant installed properly but it's not very good and won't go on Ebay at all! Opera just wouldn't install despite being the XP version which was a shame as that would have been better.
Firefox on XP is really out of date. It won't handle online vids and you get a container message pop up that stalls the page loading. Going on some Web pages tool 30 minutes to get past the pop up failures! Some even longer but you can't close the tab so or even the browser so have to reboot or force the browser to close but if it opens up again it can be the same page and it just all starts again so you have to hope you get a Web page loading failure as it gives you the option to cancel them from a list.

I don't use IE cause it's not secure enough.

Feline
Yeah, you need a lot of RAM for today's ultra HD porn...:winks::roflmao:
12gb is good. I've just bought an Asus. Never had them before as always liked Acer. Did have a HP in between but Windows 10 seemed to kill it with ruddy BSOD errors. Got them fixed and not long after it just died, wouldn't boot no matter what I swapped out or flashed. Asus seems good so far.
I'm not a fan of Intel with their odd set ups & overpricing so it makes it harder to find with AMD just moving to Ryzen but got a good deal on best FX chip which is enough for me for years.
Windows 10 has the new Edge browser as well as IE. It's like Chrome but it lacks the plug ins. The most annoying thing though is if it crashes it forgets all the open tabs! what a stupid, and easy to fix, design flaw yet everyone has been complaining about it and they don't seem to care. It's only a blimmin list in a text file. I'll likely shift to Chrome as I had on me laptop that was running Windows 7. I'm glad I missed 8, what a turkey that was, 10 is much better.
Never tried Opera but heard it is good.
My Asus has a small 128 SSD in It to boot from so it's quicker. SATA for anything large.
Decline :shades:
Never liked Acer - been ASUS for years.
I reckon you'll love it.
I run 7 and 8 and have a small program blocking downloads of 10.
Never has a prob with 7 or 8 so not changing.

How's Sarge getting on?
MyNameIsTerry
12-01-18, 06:11
Clinical
I just couldn't get into 8. I was like that with predictive text but then came Swype which I loved. Probably with 8 it was because I saw it early on and I'm not fond of apps really so was more used to the full fat view I was used too in Windows. Windows 10 seems stable enough for me, anything Microsoft is always full of bugs the first 6 months until they get some packs out with tons of patches in. It makes you wonder what they actually find in testing.
Cynical :shades:
I put a small program in mine so the start screen is the same as XP

Sounds good. I prefer the old set ups.

Hi Phill,Terry.
Sarge has been a bad dog, digging holes and barking he has chewed my good Nike runners and my thongs, I have tried him up near the garage and he is not getting any pats or walks today.

You get that with pups.
You'll need a bark collar.
Roxie had one and now Turtle wears it .
This is a thong I kept as a souvenir grom when Turtle was a pup.

Not much left of my thongs, I ordered a collar this morning.
He is quieter today, the neighbour said she only heard him a couple of times.:yesyes:

Turtle has hers on at night or if we go out.
She's fine here at the rock and doesn't worry about the dogs next door but at home we've got a blo ody Aussie Bulldog next door that sets her off.

Hollow
Glad Turtle has found her ball. My dogs like that searching until he finds that one toy out of all of them he wants and only that one!
The more Sarge gets used to those treats the more he's going to turn on the puppy dog eyes  We get to a point where ours is begging too much so he has a few days of being cutdown...trouble is he has worked that out and so sneakily just asks for a little bit more every now & then and before we know it he's back to the same!
Willow :D
What sort of dog have you got Terry?.
Phill I met another Shepherd called Sarge on our walk today but he isn't a long haired one.

I like a mature woman but I think waking up to teeth in a glass would be a bit too mature for me :roflmao: Young ones, walking round the park looking for young women might be an arrest able offence
He's a growing lad. It will probably settle down as he reaches maturity and is not going mad with energy all day long. My granddad used to have a Jack Russell (must have been back in the 70-80's) and he was a very territorial dog when out for walkies and if a big dog ran over he would grab them by their own real weak spot...if males so the big dogs always gave him a wide berth :roflmao:
Latte :shades:
Nice looking dog Terry.
Sarge will be fully grown at 2 yrs and will grow a brain and settle down at about 3yrs.
Until then you gotta be firm or he will train you instead of the other way around.
Sometimes Turtle is too clever for her own good.
I always thought all Shepherds were named Rex and now 3 Sarges in a row:yesyes:
Both my Shepherds have been chick magnets.
What more could a man want in a dog?
Tattle.
Hi Phill,Terry.:D
Took Sarge down the beach for a walk and he found a play mate,a poodle he was doing his best to hump her, shit it was funny.
He now will sit when told. I am working on training him road sense,we start puppy preschool on Wednesday night.:D

Rattler
Sounds like he needs a leg too :roflmao: The poor poodle probably didn't know what was going on. Our dog still occasionally tries to hump a toy or the carpet but he was done over 10 years ago. "Muscle memory" I guess :winks:
So Sarge is learning sitting on command equals treats? They get smart, ours still comes to announce he's done a poo in his designated space in the yard in the hope of a treat.
Cheers Phill. Does Turtle go all cute with the babes to get you half way in there?
Battler :shades:
My last Shepherd was female too and she used to hump our other female dog.
It's a dominance thing.
Turtle just looks at em and they melt.
Rattle
I want your dog Phill, Turtle sounds like a lovely boy.Do U wanna swap?

Fart

I'm in the market for another one though.
Pert
I feel like a goose Phill,I got em mixed up.
First night at puppy school and Sarge was more interested in playing and doing loops around the ground I think he was showing off or just needed a good run, geez he is funny.:D
Perth :shades:
Pert sounds good :yesyes:
They certainly make you laugh.
One night we were at dog training with Roxanne our previous Shepherd on an oval where all the surroundings were pitch black.
Roxie decided she'd had enough and took off which of course made us panic.
We found her sitting beside our car in the pitch black car park.
How she found our car amongst the hundred or so there I'll never know.
Earth :)
Sarge is in my bed and wants to play, I need to get his nails clipped, bloody scratch marks on me my work mates will think I had a rough night :winks:
Give my apologies to Turtle for calling her a bloke..
Enjoy your night Phill, talk tomorrow x.
Hearth :shades:
Turtle forgives you. :yesyes:
You do realise that if you let him in your bed now he's going to want to be there every night don't you?
More fun than a little dog though.
Turtles dew claws are like razor blades.
