Bad reflux and heartburn.

Hi everyone.

So I always seem to find myself back here no matter now hard I try to say to myself 'stay calm, don't worry!'
Basically I seem to have real stomach and heartburn issues. Everything I'm eaten seems to leave me to wanting to burp because of thar burning feeling And because this is reoccurring I'm telling myself I've got stomach cancer And if the doctors opened me up it will be everywhere.

Can anyone try to reassure me if they've had heartburn and what it feels like or causes it.

I like a lot of hot spicy food and onions so maybe this could be something to do with it.

Instead of thinking that way I think of it in a way like I'm seriously ill.

just wondering if citalopram can also have this affect

My housemate used to suffer with heartburn and acid a lot! She was always taking medicine for it. She didn't seem to eat poorly, in fact I had a worse diet! She did indulge in alcohol on the weekends though and maybe genes play a part in it too.

She is fine apart from that.
