I am a long time sufferer of HA but I have not been out here in a while, things have been good. I am 45 and used tobacco snuff for the better part of the last 15 years. I have tried to quit a million times but I always seem to fall back into the habit. This morning I noticed a pin sized dark spot in the general area that I put my snuff and when I picked at it, it bled a little. My anxiety has skyrocketed. In the past, I have been able to get past most of my HA issues with various techniques but they are not working and I am freaking out. I don't know what to do, I don't trust my judgement right now so I am torn between, googling, rushing to the Dr. or just sitting here crying. I wish I was stronger.

I couldn't help myself, I googled and made it worse.

Go to the dentist. They're the best people for looking in the mouth. I went in with a lump once and was told all ok. They know what to look for. Xxx

I agree. See your dentist and for goodness sakes, do whatever you can to break that habit.

I thought the same,I smoked for about 10 year, got two strange things on my tounge, went to dentist said they where nothing to worry about, but she could see I was anxious,so she sent me to see specialist.I was convinced it was cancer even though dentist told me it wasn't.Anyway I went to this specialist and he examined me and looked at them and told me it wasn't cancer and not to worry. He gave me a name a long name of want these marks where on my tounge and told me not to worry about it.They are still visible on my tounge, but I don't worry about them.SO what Im getting at is the same answer you got above,go to a dentist, they know the score and what to look for.
