Hi All

This is like a roundabout....

I was on Citalopram / Mirt combo for about 12months - did really well so came off of cit and stayed on just Mirt (7.5mg) for 6months.

The Mirt on its own wasnt overly effective (I only stayed on a low dose as I didnt want to keep tirading up doses) - so about 6 weeks ago I went through the agongy of weaning off.

I weaned off and went onto Sertraline - 50mg - 2 weeks ago.

Since then I have not slept a wink - that, plus the rebound insomnia from coming off the mirt means I have been insomniactic for about 8 weeks> i have had zopiclone but can feel myself becoming addicted to that big time. Started to crave it and need more to make it work.

Doc thinks I should stay on 50mg of Sert in the day and take a low dose of Mirt *(7.5mg or 15mg) in the evening to sleep again and take the edge off.

Is this a good idea? Anyone else on this combo or any other comments? I cant keep on not sleeping and using zopiclone but it does rather feel like I am going around in circles!

I was on Sertraline for two and a half months and could not sleep at all. Had Zopiclone which only helped short term. Insomnia was dreadful.
Dr changed me to Mirtazapine 15mg and slept so much better. Reduced to 7.5 Mirt and still get a good nights sleep.
So I too would think going back on Mirt would be a good option.
