View Full Version : Scanxiety
So tomorrow is another "scope, poke and prod". It'll be 19 months post treatment. I'm up and out by 6am and on the way to Baltimore for the first of three appointments.
Overall, I don't expect anything negative. I feel about the same as I've felt (the "new normal") for the last year but there's that nagging "what if?" you all know about so well.
I thought I could get through this one without the chill pills but I found that over the weekend, the "scanxiety" started top get the best of me and it's too late to start them to have any real affect. My GAD manifests itself as extreme irritability. Little things just about set me off!
Anyway... hopefully by this time tomorrow, I'll have the good news and continued NED reports.
Keep me in positive thoughts and prayers

N.E.D!
I was scoped, poked and prodded and my surgeon said everything looked amazing. I also discussed my "scanxiety" among other things and he said I could put a recurrence out of my mind at this point. So it's back to the grind as far as dealing with the "new normal". I have more aches, pains and "stuff" I deal with than most could post on a page here and they would probably send the majority over the edge but it sure beats the alternative! I've been referred for acupuncture to help with saliva production (I have maybe half of what I did prior to treatment). So if that can help, I'm game!
Thanks for the positive thoughts and prayers. I truly appreciate them!
