Strange symptom and now worried about a carcinoid

Have had lots of investigations recently for ibs type symptoms which led to an ibs diagnosis but consultant said needed to get iron up otherwise if this did not improve with treatment then they would do a camera endoscopy to get to the small bowel as they can't see that with a scope.

Anyhow ok I say, and now I have a new symptom, these past two evenings, my face has been flushing and feel like I am burning. It lasts for ages. Hours.

So I look this up and the first thing that comes up in google is carcinoid cancer of the small bowel so now I am in panic overdrive :(

I've now managed to convince myself in 5 minutes flat that it is definitely that as the other symptoms are the symptoms I have that have been diagnosed as ibs

Hot flushes can be caused by a number of things, and carcinoid cancer is probably on the bottom of the list in terms of likelihood. Something as simple as slight hormone changes can cause hot flushes, particularly in women. For example, around ovulation many women experience hot flushes and a slight rise in internal body temperature. Similarly, menopause or pre-menopause can cause quite prominent hot flushes.
