Well, looks like I'm slipping back into the cesspool of HA. Not that I ever completely left it.

My fear revolves around my left eye. First I noticed white peck in my peripheral vision around 8 months ago, in the dark, while watching TV. It appears for a split second. No pain, and I think it eventually stops appearing. For a while I believe there weren't any specks, or I didn't pay attention to them.

But now I've been noticing them again, and obviously the biggest fear is retinal detachment or some similar condition which can result in losing eyesight. I'm myopic (-5.25 on both eyes), and I'm 25, so I'm in the danger group.

I'm going to the doctor tomorrow. Going blind is one of my biggest fears, but I'm so nervous that I missed my chance of resolving this in march, when it started, than now, 8 months later.

always worried

Eyes are very resilient. I had acute uveitis and went virtually blind for over a month only for it to fully recover. Immensely painful at the time but what I am saying is they are amazing things.

I suggest you visit the optician and also, Specsavers website has a live online specialist eye doc who answers every question usually within a few hours and I pestered him on numerous occasions. Do try it I am sure you will get some reassurance ;)

I was -5.5 and -5.25. Then I had laser eye surgery (3 yrs ago). Now I have better than 20/20 vision in both eyes.

It's one of the best things I've ever done. I did it when I was 28.

Thanks for the replies. I've booked a doctor's appointment on friday, eyesight is nothing to mess with. I'll check Specsavers out, thanks for the recommendation. Regarding laser surgery, I hope I'll be able to have it in the future, but for that you need stable dioptry for a time - mine has been degrading for years.
