I just caught my brain trying to trick me

I have a spot on my knee that I'm convinced is skin cancer, and that it's going to spread to my bones and kill me. So I'm sitting here and my left knee is kind of hurting a little and I'm thinking "oh no it's already spread..."

And then I remembered the spot is on my right knee, and the pain is now gone.

Brilliant! Sometimes when I am driving or watching TV I suddenly think 'oohh I haven't felt *symptom of the week* for a while.' Then like magic, a few seconds later, there it is!!
