I'm a 19 year old female. I've been on sertraline (50mg) just over a week now for extreme health anxiety and depressive moods. Near enough everyday since taking it I have cried. Constant low mood, panic attacks, confusion, heightened anxiety, heightened depression, feeling of losing control - All of which accompanied with crying. Sometimes intense sometimes just weeping. My doctor pre warned me that I will feel heightened anxiety and depression on the first few weeks however the reviews I have read only show people that can't physically cry on it or feel 'emotionally numb'. Would love to hear some of your experiences during the initial 'kicking in' stage.

Hey Becca,

Didn't experience the crying myself. My doc prescribed me clonazepam to take for the first 3 weeks whilst settling on sertraline, helps stop the physical symptoms increasing during this spell. It will pass naturally though but just an option!
