Had my bloods done last week because i wasn't feeling well and i got word to say i had to have my potassium re-done because it wasn't right. I have googled and worried myself sick for a week and convinced myself i have kidney disease. I phoned my gp receptionist today to see if i could talk to my gp but she was off. The receptionist had my bloods and she said the U&E's want redone because there was no reading at all it just said n/a. My liver function and full blood count were ok. Anyone ever had bloods that need re done because there wasn't a reading? I don't understand it.
So my friend said oh well that's good news but i still can't settle until i get the u&e's back.

It may just be to do with the processes involved in measuring some things in the blood. So it might be something procedural (e.g. that the blood was left too long before they tested, etc.) that caused a 'no reading'. Or maybe the machine just screwed up and didn't put it on the report.
